Ancona, June 6 (LaPresse) – An 89-year-old man barricaded himself inside a real estate agency in Jesi (Ancona). The man injured a Carabinieri officer in the arm with a knife during the intervention.
Police officers, Carabinieri, local law enforcement, and a riot control unit are on the scene. The area on Via Gramsci has been closed to traffic and is completely inaccessible.
The motives behind the man's actions are still unclear, but an eviction notice may have triggered the incident. Initial reports suggesting he had a can of gasoline have been ruled out.
