Middle East, UCEI: Square for Gaza defends only one people

Milan, 6 June (LaPresse) – ‘We are concerned about the decision to defend only one people – the Palestinian people – and not the Israeli people. With one flag and not two. One strip of land to rebuild, one population to feed, console and protect. Not two.’ These are the words of Noemi Di Segni, president of the UCEI, the Union of Italian Jewish Communities. ‘We are concerned about a unilateral ceasefire demanded of Israel, and not of the terrorist group Hamas, which planned and carried out the pogrom of 7 October, whose goal is the destruction of Israel and the Jewish people, and which is responsible for the decision to continue the war by still holding hostages, dead or alive,’ she said. "We are concerned because the good of the Palestinian people is acclaimed as a claim directed solely at Israel, without recalling the historical responsibilities first of the Arab countries, then of international organisations, and finally of the terrorist organisations that have ruled arbitrarily in Gaza for decades, indoctrinate young people and plan a new extermination,‘ he emphasises. ’We are concerned about the underestimation of Iran's nuclear plans with other world powers and the funding distributed by Qatar, and how Arab countries and the Middle East, between theocracies and caliphates, have apparently not extended their protective arm over the Palestinian civilian component, but over the militia."
