Washington (United States), March 11 (LaPresse) – U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he plans to double the tariffs on Canadian aluminum and steel, continuing the trade war between the two countries despite a decline in financial markets. Trump stated that the tariff increase will go into effect as early as tomorrow. "I have instructed my Secretary of Commerce to add an additional 25% tariff, bringing it to 50%, on all steel and aluminum entering the United States from Canada, one of the nations with the highest tariffs in the world," Trump wrote today on the social platform 'Truth.'
