Defense, Crosetto: "Reasonable to set 5% spending target by 2035"

Rome, June 15 (LaPresse) – “NATO will likely request 3.5% of spending for defense and 1.5% for security. It’s an ambitious goal, but none of us think it can be achieved in one or two years. It’s reasonable to set the target for 2035, with a maximum annual increase of 0.2%, to make it compatible with our budget and without affecting essential expenditures like healthcare, welfare, and education. I’ve said this many times.” This was stated by Defense Minister Guido Crosetto in an interview with Corriere della Sera.
