Milan, 7 July (LaPresse) – Botafogo has chosen Davide Ancelotti as its new coach. The son of Carlo Ancelotti, who has been his father's assistant in recent years, has reportedly accepted the offer to coach Alvinegro. According to Globo Esporte, the parties reached an agreement on Sunday and the 35-year-old Italian is expected in Rio de Janeiro in the coming days. He is expected to start work this week. Davide Ancelotti began working with his father Carlo in 2012 and has been his assistant for the last five teams: Bayern Munich, Napoli, Everton, Real Madrid and the Brazilian national team. Now, he is starting his first coaching job. He will have more than one assistant: he is still deciding which technical team will accompany him to Brazil. The Italian was on holiday with his family in Europe and will soon join Alvinegro, but it is unlikely that he will be on the bench against Vasco next Saturday in the Brasileirão. At this point, Cláudio Caçapa, Alvinegro's assistant coach on an indefinite contract, is expected to lead the team. Davide Ancelotti does not have a fixed contract with the CBF, only a collaboration agreement, like other members of Ancelotti's technical committee. Only Ancelotti (his father) has an exclusive contract.
