Football, Bologna: Ciro Immobile's signing is official

Milan, 10 July (LaPresse) – Bologna announces that it has acquired the sporting rights of striker Ciro Immobile, who has been released by Besiktas.Born in 1990, Ciro is one of the best strikers of his generation and joins Bologna following in the footsteps of great champions who, from Baggio and Signori onwards, have decided to enjoy a second and triumphant youth with the Rossoblù, such as Gilardino, Di Vaio and, more recently, Palacio. With 201 goals in Serie A since 2008, no one else has scored as many, and he is the eighth highest scorer of all time in Italy's top flight, having been the league's top scorer four times and setting the record for goals scored in a single season (36) in 2019-20. Two years earlier, he was also the top scorer in the Europa League. A right-footed centre forward capable of covering the entire front line, he came up through the youth ranks of Sorrento and then Juventus, emerging in his seasons with Pescara and Torino. He then became an icon and the all-time top scorer for Lazio, with 169 goals in 270 games, an absolutely extraordinary average that earned him a Golden Boot, the award given to the player who, during the European season, obtained the best score calculated by multiplying the number of goals scored in the league by the difficulty coefficient of the league itself. At club level, Immobile won the Serie B title (2011/12 season) with Pescara, the German Super Cup (in 2014) with Borussia Dortmund, the Coppa Italia (2018/19) and two Italian Super Cups (in 2017 and 2019) with Lazio, and a Turkish Super Cup (in 2024) with Besiktas, at the end of a season in which he scored 19 goals in 41 games. With 17 goals in 57 appearances for Italy, he is also 16th in the all-time ranking of goalscorers for the national team.
