US tariffs, EU: ‘No countermeasures before 1 August’

Brussels, 22 July (LaPresse) – "The intention of the European Commission, acting on behalf of the entire European Union in the ongoing negotiations with the United States and in the preparation of our countermeasures, should these negotiations not lead to the desired outcome, is not to present any countermeasures, first or second list, before the deadline announced by the United States for 1 August. Until then, our focus is on the negotiations, which will be our priority at this stage.‘ This was stated by European Commission spokesperson Olof Gill in his daily press briefing, adding: ’Our countermeasures are on the table."
