Milan, Mar 3 (LaPresse) – Former Fifa president Sepp Blatter arrived in court in Switzerland for his second trial on fraud, forgery and embezzlement charges, a week before his 89th birthday. He told reporters in German ‘I am confident’ before entering the court building. Blatter arrived 10 minutes after his co-defendant Michel Platini, former Uefa number one. Blatter and Platini are facing a second trial almost three years after being acquitted by three federal judges. The charges relate to a Fifa payment approved by Blatter of 2 million Swiss francs (now $2.21 million) to Platini. The prosecution in 2015 removed both from world football.
