NBA Basketball: Cavs Lose Again, Butler Leads Golden State

Rome, March 19 (LaPresse) – Four NBA regular season games were played last night. The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers, leaders of the Eastern Conference and already qualified for the playoffs. Following their home loss to Orlando, this marks the second consecutive defeat for the Cavs, who fell 132-119. Kawhi Leonard was the top scorer with 33 points, but Ivica Zubac also put in a strong performance, finishing with 28 points and 20 rebounds.

Golden State returned to winning ways, beating the Milwaukee Bucks 104-93, with Jimmy Butler "replacing" Steph Curry (rested) and coming close to a triple-double with 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 10 assists.

The Boston Celtics also secured a victory over the Brooklyn Nets, 104-95, led by Kristaps Porzingis, who recorded 25 points and 13 rebounds. For the Nets, D’Angelo Russell’s 18 points weren’t enough.

Finally, the Atlanta Hawks strengthened their hold on the seventh spot in the East with a 134-102 win over the Charlotte Hornets. Six players scored in double figures, with Dyson Daniels leading Atlanta with 22 points, while Daquan Jeffries and Seth Curry each scored 19 for Charlotte.
