Frankfurt (Germany), 20 Mar (LaPresse) – ‘The high level of political uncertainty requires us to remain vigilant and ready to act to protect price stability’. This was said by the President of the European Central Bank (ECB), Christine Lagarde, during her speech to the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs of the European Parliament in Brussels. Regarding the impact of US tariffs on the Eurozone, Lagarde stressed that ‘these estimates are subject to very high uncertainty, as the impact of tariff increases could be non-linear, for example due to a significant reconfiguration of global supply chains’.
