Rome, Gasperini on the transfer market: ‘We are in agreement with the club, but I would have liked more in attack.’

Rome, Sept. 2 (LaPresse) – Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini reviewed the summer transfer window in an interview with the club’s official channels, highlighting his relationship with the club, the decisions made, and the outlook for the season. “I’ve said it before and I repeat: there has always been a shared understanding with the club. From the very beginning, there was a good connection which, during this market, we only partially managed to fulfill,” Gasperini said. “However, their willingness was very high. As for me, even with a club very open financially, the last-minute deals wouldn’t have brought a technical advantage.” On rumors of tension with Massara, he added: “They are two different jobs. I understand the strategies: when to push, when to make offers, when to talk to agents, and when to bluff. That’s why I don’t participate in negotiations; it’s not my job. Of course, there must be strong synergy between the sporting director, coach, and club.”
