Ukraine, Podolyak: ‘US remains important partner, Zelensly will not resign’

Milan, 2 Mar. (LaPresse) – ‘The clash in Washington should be read in the perspective of the very serious aggression launched by Putin against Ukraine. And Russia is doing everything to divide us from Washington’. So says Mykhailo Podolyak, Zelensky's advisor, in an interview with Corriere della Sera. ‘The meeting was at times extremely emotional,’ he says, ’it may have been very different from the traditional formats and protocols of events at this level. However, it has to be taken into account that we are in the middle of a very serious European war and the international community as a whole is upset about it'. ‘Several questions must be answered correctly to avoid any ambiguity: first, Russia and only Russia is the aggressor. There is no dispute, no double responsibility for the war. Secondly, of course the United States is an extremely important partner for us and of course we are very grateful for everything they have done. And we understand that Russia is extremely interested in the US to stop helping Ukraine. Third: there is no doubt that the partnership relations will be maintained,' he emphasises.
