Rome, 18 September (LaPresse) – ‘I don’t believe in talent. It doesn’t exist. There are only hard workers. No one is born with a gift: what makes the difference is the ability to withstand defeat’. So says Achille Lauro in a preview of his interview with GQ. ‘For me, creativity isn’t just passion: it’s an obsession. Today, I want to write great songs that will last, that say something more,’ he adds. On his role as a judge on X Factor, he says: “I don’t see myself as a teacher, but as a friend. I share my mistakes, because experience is nothing more than making mistakes and learning. Sometimes all it takes is simple, humble advice. Even though it’s a talent show, a real relationship has been created, made up of young people looking for their way. They still call me, and sometimes even their mothers call me to ask for advice.”
