Rome, Sept. 20 (LaPresse) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he will urge U.S. President Donald Trump to impose sanctions on Russia when they meet next week at the United Nations in New York, and called on Ukraine’s allies to “stop wasting time.” The Guardian, which attended the meeting Zelensky held with a group of journalists, reported this. Zelensky said he expects further sanctions if Vladimir Putin refuses to meet him face-to-face or accept a ceasefire, expressing frustration with the pace of events. He stated that linking potential U.S. sanctions to demands that European countries act first means “slowing down pressure on Putin.” “President Trump expects strong action from Europe. I think we are losing a lot of time if sanctions are not imposed or if measures we expect from Trump are not taken,” the Ukrainian leader said.
