Turin, 24th Mar. (LaPresse) – The mayor of Istanbul Ekrem Imamoglu, who was imprisoned a few days ago, has been officially nominated by his party, the CHP, as their candidate for the 2028 presidential elections. As reported by the Turkish press, the party leader, Ozgur Ozel, announced that Imamoglu received 14,850,000 votes in the primaries. Ozel explained that out of 1,753,000 Chp members, 1,653,000 cast their vote. Imamoglu was arrested on Tuesday and yesterday the judges confirmed his detention.
