Milan, Sept. 24 (LaPresse) – “We have expressed concern over recent violations of airspace by Russia in Estonia, Poland, and Romania, which are unacceptable and risk undermining international security.” This is stated in a joint declaration by the G7 foreign ministers from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, along with the European Union High Representative, meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week in New York.
“We emphasized our continued commitment to work together to achieve a lasting peace and a strong, independent, sovereign, and prosperous Ukraine, continuing to coordinate with the United States to provide Ukraine with solid and credible security guarantees,” the statement continues. “We discussed imposing additional economic costs on Russia, including measures against third countries that facilitate such violations. We welcome ongoing discussions among G7 finance ministers on further exploiting Russian sovereign assets to support Ukraine.”
