Milan, Sept. 24 (LaPresse) – A strong performance by Italy has secured a place in the semifinals of the Volleyball World Championship, currently underway in the Philippines. In the quarterfinals, Fefè De Giorgi’s Azzurri swept Belgium 3-0 with set scores of 25-13, 25-18, and 25-18 — a convincing revenge after losing to the same Belgian side in the group stage. Reigning world champions, Italy will now face the winner of the other quarterfinal between Poland and Turkey.
