Sardinia: woman missing in Palau, wine entrepreneur arrested for murder

Cagliari, Sept. 24 (LaPresse) – Emanuele Ragnedda, 41, a wine entrepreneur from Arzachena in Costa Smeralda, has been arrested by the Carabinieri with support from the Coast Guard while attempting to flee by boat. He is accused of the murder of Cinzia Pinna, a 33-year-old woman from Castelsardo, who has been missing since September 11 in Palau.

Unrepeatable forensic investigations by the Cagliari RIS unit are underway on Ragnedda’s estate, which includes 70 hectares of vineyards. Pinna was last seen on September 11 in a venue in Palau with Ragnedda and a 26-year-old man from Milan, who is also now under investigation for concealing a corpse. The investigation, led by the Tempio Pausania Prosecutor’s Office, is reconstructing the critical hours between September 11 and 12. Several mobile phones and a firearm have been seized for analysis.

Pinna’s family reported her disappearance immediately, prompting a search operation involving firefighters, civil protection, and the Carabinieri. Her sister repeatedly issued appeals on social media. Ragnedda, son and grandson of a renowned winemaking family, had followed in his parents’ footsteps by founding the ConcaEntosa winery, best known for its 2021 IGT Vermentino “Disco Volante,” which has sold for up to €1,800 per bottle.
