Paupisi murders: Ocone in prison, admits to killing wife and son

Campobasso, 1 October (LaPresse) – Salvatore Ocone, the 58-year-old man accused of killing his wife Elisabetta Polcino and his 15-year-old son Cosimo and leaving his 16-year-old daughter Antonia in a critical condition, has confessed. After his arrest in Ponte Rotto, between Mirabello Sannitico and Ferrazzano, Ocone was taken to the Carabinieri barracks in Via Mazzini, Campobasso, where he was questioned for an hour and a half during the night by the Benevento public prosecutor, Gianfranco Scarfò. The magistrate, who arrived in the Molise capital on the evening of 30 September, confirmed the man’s confession but did not specify the motive behind the family tragedy. At the end of the interrogation, Ocone was transferred to the Campobasso prison in Via Cavour on charges of aggravated double murder, attempted murder and kidnapping.
