Flotilla: Turkish Navy intervenes to evacuate 11 activists

Turin, 1 October (LaPresse) – The Turkish Navy has intervened to allow the evacuation of 11 members of the Global Sumud Flotilla en route to Gaza. This was announced in a statement by the Ministry of Defence in Ankara, reported by the media. ‘As part of the humanitarian aid activities carried out by civilian ships sailing in the eastern Mediterranean, 11 people, including three Turkish citizens, who had requested assistance were evacuated to land by members of our Naval Forces,’ the statement read.
