Gaza, Tajani: ‘Palestinians are not Hamas, Israel’s reaction goes beyond self-defence’

Rome, 2 October (LaPresse) – “We have said it from day one: Israel has been attacked and has every right to defend itself. However, we have asked Israel to put an end to its violation of international humanitarian law and to refrain from attacking a defenceless and innocent population. Gaza is not Hamas, the Palestinians are not Hamas. They are Hamas’s first victims. Unfortunately, our requests have been ignored, and the inhabitants of Gaza, used as hostages or human shields by terrorists, have suffered dramatically from the effects of Israel’s military action, which has gone far beyond the right to self-defence.” This was stated by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani during his communications to the Chamber of Deputies on Gaza.
