Rome, Oct. 3 (LaPresse) – Overnight, German air traffic control (DFS) restricted flight operations at Munich Airport from 10:18 p.m. and subsequently suspended them entirely due to multiple drone sightings. As a result, 17 flights were unable to depart from Munich that evening, affecting nearly 3,000 passengers.
According to a statement from the airport, Munich Airport, in collaboration with airlines, immediately attended to passengers in the terminals. Cots were set up and blankets, drinks, and snacks were provided. Additionally, 15 incoming flights were diverted to Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Vienna, and Frankfurt.
Departures and arrivals resumed just before 6 a.m. and are currently operating normally.
