Football, Del Piero: “Milan are title contenders, Yildiz wants to become a Juventus icon”

Turin, Oct. 4 (LaPresse) – “Milan as a title contender? For a number of reasons, yes. They’re only playing in the league, which allows them to prepare well during the week and have physically ready players without travel or disruptions. And because they have quality – not just Rabiot, but also Modric, Leao, Saelemaekers… It’s a well-structured team,” said Alessandro Del Piero in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, just hours before the big match in Turin between Juventus and Milan.

“Today’s Juve? The current situation seems to be well absorbed by everyone, but obviously, the lack of continuity isn’t entirely positive. When you play four or five matches in a row, you get used to certain dynamics and become more prepared. What matters is that those on the bench manage to stay mentally sharp: we’re seeing more and more matches being decided by substitutions, by what happens later on. Let’s hope Tudor picks the right players both at the start and during the match,” he continued.

“The fact that Milan plays in the Champions League doesn’t mean more pressure. When you play just once a week, you absolutely have to do well, so Milan carries a great responsibility. But both teams are equipped to do anything.”

Speaking about Kenan Yildiz, “He’s a serious kid, who loves to work hard, who wants to become a symbol of this club and succeed – and rightly so. In my opinion, he’s doing it the right way. Of course, there will be ups and downs, and in those moments he’ll need to rely on the right people,” concluded the former Juventus captain. “I hope he always has the right people around him, who can tell him exactly what he needs to hear at that moment.”
