Milan, 6 October (LaPresse) – ‘Whenever these tragic cases have occurred, which we obviously regret, whenever someone dies, we must first and foremost express our condolences, but each time it has been ruled out that the use of a taser was responsible, and let us not forget that it is always an alternative to the use of firearms’. This was stated by the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, on Rai 1’s “Cinque minuti” programme, responding to a question about the latest death of a man in Naples after being shot with a taser by the Carabinieri. ‘The distribution of defibrillators to police and Carabinieri patrols operating in the territory is already quite extensive,’ he added.
