India, landslide engulfs bus: at least 15 dead

New Delhi (India), 8 October (LaPresse/AP) – At least 15 people have died after a large landslide engulfed a bus in India, in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh. This was reported by local authorities. The bus was travelling on a hilly stretch of road near the Bilaspur district when the landslide struck the area after days of torrential rain. There were between 20 and 25 passengers on board. According to the police, the victims included nine men, four women and two children. Three injured children were rescued and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Intermittent rains have been falling on the region since Monday, making the fragile mountain slopes unstable.
