Rome, 8 October (LaPresse) – Missing three anti-doping tests will cost Irish MMA star Conor McGregor an 18-month suspension. ESPN reports this, citing the UFC’s anti-doping agency. ‘McGregor missed three attempts to collect biological samples over a 12-month period in 2024, which constitutes a violation,’ reads a statement from the agency. ‘UFC athletes are required to provide accurate information about their whereabouts at all times so that they can be contacted and undergo biological sample collection without prior notice.’ The suspension will be retroactive, starting on 20 September 2024 and ending on 20 March 2026, approximately three months before the programme of events that the UFC has organised at the White House and which US President Donald Trump has announced will take place on 14 June, on his 80th birthday. For McGregor, who has been working hard to be included in the event, it would be his first fight in almost five years.
