Rome, Oct. 8 (LaPresse) – “The rise of antisemitism is one of the main issues we are currently facing. From October 7, 2023, to today, the Observatory for Security Against Discriminatory Acts, operating within the Ministry of the Interior, has recorded 733 reports of antisemitic acts — including 140 in Rome and 86 in Milan — marking a sharp increase compared to the pre-conflict period,” said Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi during Question Time in the Chamber of Deputies. “We have therefore strengthened all surveillance and control measures related to sensitive targets linked to the State of Israel, and increased cooperation and information exchange with Jewish organizations and institutions in order to ensure continuous monitoring of risk factors and potential targets across the national territory,” he concluded.
