Pope: “Do not forget journalists fallen in wars, thanks to them we know the truth”

Vatican City (Vatican), Oct. 9 (LaPresse) – Do not forget reporters fallen in war zones. This was the warning of Pope Leo XIV, who this morning received participants of the 39th Conference of the MINDS International Association.
“Every day,” the Pope said, “there are reporters who personally risk themselves so that people can know how things really are. And in a time like ours, of widespread and violent conflicts, many fall on the field: victims of war and the ideology of war, which seeks to prevent journalists from being there. We must not forget them! If today we know what happened in Gaza, in Ukraine, and in every other land soaked in bombs, we owe it largely to them. But these extreme testimonies are the apex of the daily effort of many who work so that information is not polluted by other purposes, contrary to truth and human dignity.”
