Cornaredo, trace of accelerant found in apartment that caught fire in Milan area

Milan, Oct. 11 (LaPresse) – A trace of an accelerant was found in the room of Carlo Laria, 55, who died along with his parents Benito Laria and Carmela Greco, aged 88 and 82 respectively, in the fire that destroyed the first-floor apartment of a building in Cornaredo, near Milan. This emerged from the initial investigations conducted by the Fire Brigade’s Investigative Unit. The substance is not consistent with a normal residential environment, and its presence in the room from which the fire reportedly started raises the possibility of a deliberate act by the man. Further investigations and verifications are currently underway by the Fire Brigade’s NIA and the Carabinieri, under the coordination of the Milan prosecutor’s office.
