Palermo: young man killed, partial confessions from alleged killer

Palermo, 12 October (LaPresse) – The alleged murderer of Paolo Taormina, the 21-year-old killed last night in Palermo with a shot to the head, is named Gaetano Maranzano and is 28 years old. The Carabinieri arrested him at his partner’s home in the Uditore district. During the search, the police found a gun that could be the murder weapon. An hour after the murder, Maranzano posted content on TikTok in which his admiration for Totò Riina is clear. Immediately after his arrest, he made partial admissions of responsibility to investigators, giving his version of events: he spoke of resentment towards the victim, who had harassed his girlfriend in the past. Investigators are currently examining this account.
