Middle East: Israeli government to release hostages early tomorrow morning

Milan, 12 October (LaPresse) – Israeli hostages still in Gaza will be released by Hamas ‘early Monday morning’. This was announced by Israeli government spokeswoman Shosh Bedrosian, who explained that the 20 living hostages will be handed over to the Red Cross and then transferred to Israel and taken to the Re’im military base. The bodies of the deceased hostages will be placed in coffins wrapped in the Israeli flag and transported to the forensic institute for identification. Shortly before this announcement by the spokeswoman, the Times of Israel reported that it had learned that Israel had informed the families of the hostages that the release was expected to take place between 4 and 6 a.m. tomorrow morning (i.e., between 3 and 5 a.m. Italian time), specifying, however, that the time was still subject to change. According to the Times of Israel, Israel will be informed by the Red Cross two hours before the hostages are released.
