Gaza: Trump: ‘Blair? Let’s see if he’s the right choice.’

Rome, 13 October (LaPresse) – US President Donald Trump has expressed doubts that former British Prime Minister Tony Blair will play a role in the temporary government of Gaza after the end of the war between Israel and Hamas. Blair is a candidate for a seat on the so-called “Peace Council”, which would oversee the reconstruction of Gaza. But speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday evening, Trump questioned whether Blair would be a ‘popular’ choice. ‘I like Tony, I’ve always liked Tony, but I want to find out if he’s an acceptable choice for everyone. I’d like to find out if Tony would be popular with everyone, because I’m not sure,’ Trump said, as reported by Sky News.
