Middle East: Pizzaballa says leaders with vision are needed for peace, but they are currently lacking

Florence, 18 October (LaPresse) – On the causes of the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians, ‘we have left the narrative to the extremists: Hamas and the settlers,’ but to achieve peace, ‘leadership with vision, both political and religious, is needed, and at this moment I do not see it,’ and ‘both Israelis and Palestinians are very divided.’ This was stated by Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Patriarch of Jerusalem of the Latins, during a live link-up with the “Luce!” festival, currently underway at Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
