Argentina: midterm elections underway, Milei votes in Buenos Aires

Milan, 26 October (LaPresse) – A few minutes after 11 a.m. (3 p.m. in Italy), Argentine President Javier Milei voted in the midterm elections at the National Technological University (UTN) in Almagro, Buenos Aires, where he arrived with his sister Karina. Surrounded by a massive security presence, Milei cast his vote at polling station 2211 and left without making any statements to the press. After leaving the school, he took a few minutes to greet some supporters and then left in a black pick-up truck to return to the Olivos residence. This was reported by El Clarin. Most polls predict a close race between Milei’s La Libertad Avanza party and the Peronist coalition. Half of Argentina’s lower house, or 127 seats, and a third of the Senate, or 24 seats, are up for grabs.
