Washington (USA), 31 October (LaPresse) – Flights at New York’s JFK Airport have been suspended until 7.30 p.m. (local time) due to a “shortage of air traffic control personnel” caused by the shutdown. The announcement was made by the New York City Emergency Management Department. ‘Flights bound for JFK are suspended at their respective departure airports,’ the department said. In addition, the nearby LaGuardia and Newark airports are also ‘subject to traffic restrictions imposed by the FAA’ and subject to delays due to staffing shortages and wind in the region.
