Bologna, driver who hit Laura Pausini’s uncle turns himself in

Milan, 3 November (LaPresse) – The driver who yesterday ran over and killed Ettore Pausini, paternal uncle of singer Laura Pausini, while he was riding his bike along the Guelfi roads on the outskirts of Bologna, presented himself at the offices of the Bologna Local Police. The man, a Romanian-Moldovan citizen residing in Rimini, stated that he was driving the car that ran over the 78-year-old. The local police reported him while he remained at liberty, as he turned himself in voluntarily and has no criminal record. Tomorrow, the case will be sent to the public prosecutor, who is already aware of the situation, as the local police were already on his trail. The man has been charged with vehicular homicide, hit-and-run, and failure to render aid. Further investigations are underway with CCTV footage and witnesses to obtain a more accurate and reliable reconstruction of the events.
