Rome, 4 November (LaPresse) – The mayor of Fara San Martino (Chieti), Antonio Tavani, has confirmed the death of Paolo Cocco, the Italian photographer who went missing while attempting to climb Dolma Khang in Nepal. Tavani told LaPresse that he had been informed by the victim’s brother, who was also a former deputy mayor of the town in the province of Chieti. ‘Paolo,’ he said, ‘was a wonderful person. A lively, generous, quick-witted young man. A visionary and an artist, but always with his feet firmly on the ground.’ Cocco, the mayor of the Abruzzo municipality added, ‘always took on the most fascinating challenges, like the one he was experiencing.’
