Palermo: large seizure of over 10,000 fake Labubu dolls

Milan, 10 November (LaPresse) – With a turnover estimated at €500,000, the Italian Financial Police seized over 10,000 fake Labubu collectible toys created by Pop Mart in Palermo. Some of the models were copies of a toy sold at auction in Beijing for €130,000. Seven people were reported, all sellers, including the owner of a toy shop in a shopping centre. The soft toys, originally designed by a Hong Kong artist and sold worldwide by toy manufacturing and sales giant Pop Mart, quickly became a trend, creating a rush to buy them after they were worn on social media by international music and film stars.
