Turin, 11 November (LaPresse/AP) – Sally Kirkland, a former model who became an actress and a regular presence in cinema and on television, has died at the age of 84. Best known for starring alongside Paul Newman and Robert Redford in “The Sting”, she received an Oscar nomination for her leading role in the 1987 film “Anna”. Her agent Michael Greene said Kirkland died on Tuesday morning in a hospice in Palm Springs. Friends had set up a GoFundMe account this autumn for her medical care after she suffered several fractures and developed serious infections during her recovery that required hospitalisation and rehabilitation.
