Migrants, MSF: ‘Oyvon rescues 41 people, landed in Lampedusa’

Milan, 16 November (LaPresse) – The first rescue by Oyvon, an MSF vessel, after more than 36 hours of active search for three different boats in distress, saved 41 people, now safe, who disembarked in Lampedusa. The rescue was carried out thanks to a joint effort between MSF_sea and Louise Michel. Oyvon was the first to reach the vessel and provided life jackets, while the crew of Louise Michel helped to transfer all the survivors safely to Oyvon. Most of the survivors, MSF explains on X, come from Sudan and had fled the ongoing war in their country of origin. All survivors disembarked safely in Lampedusa. Three of the survivors are women and 14 are children, nine of whom are unaccompanied.
