Gaza: media reports that 100 Hamas militants in Rafah tunnel refuse to come out

Milan, 17 Nov. (LaPresse) – A group of about 100 Hamas members has barricaded itself in a tunnel in Rafah and has made it known that it is not willing to surrender. This was reported by the Israeli broadcaster Kan, citing a Palestinian source in the Gaza Strip. According to the source, the militants have made it known that they will not accept any initiative that forces them to leave the tunnel network except through a route of their own choosing. The group of terrorists who took refuge in the tunnel consists of operatives with combat experience and terrorists recently recruited into Hamas’ military wing, Kan reports, adding that their commander in the tunnel is a Hamas member with the rank of battalion commander or battalion commander, and is the highest-ranking figure present in that tunnel.
