Bad weather, Mayor of Genoa: ‘Significant damage in Ponente’

Milan, 17 Nov. (LaPresse) – “Today we are inspecting the areas of Ponente most affected by the bad weather, after spending the whole day yesterday in the Civil Protection Emergency Room to effectively coordinate the response to the critical issues that arose in the area during the alert. The first phone call I received this morning was from the Head of the Civil Protection Department, Fabio Ciciliano, whom I thank for expressing solidarity with our city and guaranteeing his collaboration for everything we need and will need, today and in the future.” This was stated by the Mayor of Genoa, Silvia Salis, on the sidelines of this morning’s inspection of the areas most affected by the bad weather in recent days in the VII Ponente district. ‘In Pegli and Pra’, the damage has been significant,’ the mayor emphasised, “and we wanted to show our support for the businesses and people who have suffered damage and experienced extremely dangerous situations. Regarding what happened in Pra’, Salis explained, “This morning, I immediately called the president of the Port Authority, Matteo Paroli, to coordinate our efforts as best we can, starting today, in order to mitigate the risks associated with these severe waves of bad weather”.
