Ukraine, Tajani: ‘There can be no peace without the involvement of the EU and Kiev’

Rome, 21 Nov. (LaPresse) – Regarding US President Donald Trump’s peace plan for Ukraine, “we need to see when it will be made public. Europe cannot fail to play a leading role, and I believe the Americans continue to say so too. Without Europe, an agreement cannot be reached, as it has imposed sanctions on Russia and it is Europe that must decide whether or not to withdraw them.” This was stated by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on the sidelines of the event presenting the measures to strengthen “Tourism of the Roots” financed by the Development and Cohesion Fund. “Europe,” he added, “will therefore necessarily have to be part of the negotiations, as will the Ukrainians, because there can be no peace without their participation”.
