Inter, Chivu: ‘Thuram is fine, Lautaro is a complete player’

Milan, 22 Nov. (LaPresse) – ‘Thuram and Lautaro in the starting line-up? I don’t play fantasy football, so I’m not saying anything.’ These were the words of Inter coach Cristian Chivu speaking at a press conference on the eve of the derby against Inter. ‘Lautaro always gives something extra near the opponent’s area. He has experience, grit, the ability to understand where and how to position himself, and he is the first to defend and apply pressure with the aggression and intensity that allows him to steal the ball and direct play,’ he added. ‘At international level, he is a complete player. In Italy, he is the third or fourth highest scorer of all time and has everything. He can improve, but we are happy to have him as captain and striker,’ Chivu continued. On Thuram, the Nerazzurri coach said that ‘he is fine, he didn’t go to the national team. He needed some more training.’ Finally, on the others: ‘They are all fine, apart from Dumfries, who will not be there tomorrow,’ concluded Chivu.
