Rome, 25 Nov. (LaPresse) – “I must say that on certain issues, starting with the joint commitment to combat violence against women, dialogue and collaboration with the opposition have never been lacking.” This is what Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said in an interview with LaPresse on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women regarding the recent agreement with PD secretary Elly Schlein on the principle of free consent. “I want to recall that we are on the verge of the final approval in Parliament of the Government’s bill to introduce the autonomous crime of femicide into the legal system, a legal and cultural revolution that makes us one of the first nations in Europe and the world to take this path,” she added, acknowledging that “if we have reached this result, it is also thanks to the support and contribution that all political forces provided during the parliamentary process.” “I think this is not a matter on which to build propaganda,” the Prime Minister concluded.
