Milan, 29 Nov. (LaPresse) – “When asked in Paris about the introduction of voluntary conscription in France, I replied that it was a solution similar to that in Germany and that I would ask Parliament, as part of a more complex and comprehensive defence reform, to review the model provided for by Law 244/2012, also considering a possible voluntary reserve, to be identified through voluntary conscription. For three years, I have been saying clearly that the choice to have professional armed forces that are not based on compulsory conscription is, for me, a necessary path.‘ So said Defence Minister Guido Crosetto in a post on X. ’This is the level of information in Italy. I find it even more serious that this is happening on public television, which only provides “information”,” reads the post. “The truth is of no interest to those who think that information can be provided in a bored and superficial manner, without even verifying such important issues. And we are talking about a public company that has even more stringent duties of seriousness and truthfulness,” the post concludes.
