Serie A, Vanoli: “Thanks to Fiorentina fans for their support despite the standings”

Milan, Nov. 30 (LaPresse) – “Since I took over the team, I’ve told the players what the reality is. I thank the fans, who have understood the situation. They know how important they are; they always support us despite the standings.” This is what Fiorentina coach Paolo Vanoli told Sky Sport after the league defeat against Atalanta. “When periods like this happen, you have to focus on the positive things. We could have taken the lead, but instead we conceded a bit of an unlucky goal. The positive aspect is that we grew into the match, even though we played just two days ago. Now, in December, our matches begin; we have to stay positive and not look back. We have to continue on this path,” he added. “When initial expectations are high and you find yourself at the bottom, resetting objectives becomes fundamental for the players’ mentality. We’re working on it, because tonight too we started cautiously but then we freed ourselves. I need to help them free their minds from the beginning; I think this group is working hard to get out of this situation. I’m convinced the results of this work will come; we need to become more clinical. Now we will face Sassuolo with the determination of a team at the bottom,” he concluded.
