Ukraine, Crosetto: “Russia knows well what Kyiv cannot give up”

Rome, Dec. 1 (LaPresse) – “We must remember that for 1,300 days between 1,200 and 1,500 Russians and Ukrainians have been dying in the war every day. For this reason, all of us can only want its immediate end. All of the West, the whole world now wants peace, a truce; it is up to Russia to reach the conditions for this to happen. Russia knows what the red lines are that cannot be asked of Ukraine to cross. Putin knows them perfectly. And he knows very well what Ukraine cannot give up.” This is what Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said in an interview with Corriere della Sera. “Ukraine first lost Crimea, now three provinces, and next time? We must be certain that this is the last time Russia tries to destroy Ukraine. We are all working on it. But for the end, it takes two; to want peace, it takes two,” he added. “Can the Trump plan work? I have heard many criticisms; I myself have made some. The point is that you always start from something. So the good part is that someone has decided to try to discuss a proposal. Now it must be changed, made acceptable primarily by Ukraine. But we must do it at all costs. Like peace in Gaza.”
