Rome: vandalism at synagogue, prosecutor investigates for racial hatred

Rome, 2 December (LaPresse) – The Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened a file on the alleged crime of incitement to racial hatred after the plaque and wall of the Monteverde Vecchio synagogue in Rome were vandalised during the night between Sunday and Monday. The Digos (Special Operations Division) is on the trail of two hooded individuals who were caught on camera spraying paint on the plaque and perimeter wall. The vandalised plaque is dedicated to Stefano Gaj Tachè, the Jewish child who was killed in the attack on the Rome ghetto in 1982.
