Rome, Dec. 3 (LaPresse) – Israel has announced that in the coming days it will open the Rafah crossing to allow Palestinians from Gaza to travel into Egypt. The COGAT, the Israeli military body responsible for facilitating aid to Gaza, according to the Times of Israel, explained that Palestinians will be able to leave the Strip in coordination with Egypt, after approval from Israeli security authorities and under the supervision of a European Union delegation — a mechanism similar to the one implemented in January. The Israeli Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories stated that the move is “in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and the directives of the political leadership.”
